The Story of AliJon Enterprises, Inc.
From Service to Startup
In 1981, after serving six years in the United States Air Force, my father and I found ourselves searching for a meaningful project to pursue together. Opportunity knocked when a friend needed custom business cards—and my father asked if I knew how to make a silkscreen. I had a rough idea, though I’d never tried it. So we rolled up our sleeves, bought the materials, and built a compact silkscreen device tailored to our limited space.
What started as a few business card orders quickly expanded. Soon, we were silk-screening T-shirts, hats, and other promotional items for local businesses. Our small venture was gaining momentum.
A Family Legacy Begins
By 1986, we decided to formalize our growing operation. That’s when AliJon Enterprises, Inc. was born—named after my two children, Alison and JT (John Thomas), and inspired by my father’s love for his grandchildren.
As a visionary (or a “dreamer,” as my grandmother affectionately called me), I began mapping out our future. Computers were emerging, albeit primitive—green screens and small processors. Drawing on my Air Force experience, I taught myself to write code.
While DJing on weekends, I connected with a local radio station that needed a program to manage their prize inventory. I built it—and soon began customizing versions for other stations. As demand for silk-screening declined, we pivoted into technology consulting.
Growth and Expansion
In 1988, my father accepted a building maintenance role at a high-rise in Philadelphia, returning to the field he worked in before my mother passed away in 1976. Meanwhile, AliJon was expanding, and I was traveling more for consulting projects. That same year, I moved to Washington State to lead a major initiative.
From 1988 to 1994, AliJon focused on computer systems, inventory control, and project management. In 1994, we returned to Pennsylvania for family reasons, rented a small office, and hired staff to support our growing client base. We evolved into industry consultants, serving a diverse range of businesses—including McDonald's, Dana Corporation, Penske Racing, and NASA.
Innovation & Brand Building
AliJon didn’t just consult—we created. Over the years, we developed and sold several innovative brands:

Though we sold these ventures to larger companies, our vision remained intact.
